Storyline:

Edmund, the newly hatched fire dragon, was lost. A few moments earlier, he’d been in his nest trying to break out of his shell. Then the next thing he knew, his egg was bouncing along the ground, tumbling him over and over. When it finally stopped, Edmund popped out of his shell and saw that he was in a dark and scary cave. He called out to see if anyone was there but soon realized he was all alone. He ducked back down to hide and wait for his mother to find him. But when hours went by and she didn’t come, Edmund knew he’d have to find his way home himself. So even though he was scared, being a brave little dragon, he climbed out of his shell and started walking down one of the long tunnels that led out of the cave. And he kept walking, even when he got tired and wanted to stop because he was determined to get back to his nest and his mother who had to be really worried about him by now.

But Edmund is going the wrong way. He’ll need your help to get back home. And though the path is filled with many obstacles that must be overcome, sharp thinking will get you through. So if you’re ready to help Edmund get back to his mother, it’s time to go.

How Does It Work:
Kids will visit 8 stations and solve a puzzle at each one, recording their answers on a recording sheet. Since some of the puzzles can be tricky, hint cards have been provided to help the kids solve the puzzles in case they get stuck. There is also an answer key so the party/activity host can give them some extra assistance if needed.

To set up the escape room, just print an answer sheet for each kid or group, and one set of puzzles and you’re good to go. You can set up the puzzles throughout the house to enhance gameplay or just spread them out on the floor or dining room table.

Once the kids have completed all the challenges, they’ll scan the provided QR code with a cell phone camera, then enter the 8-digit code they came up with as the password to a hidden website. If they enter the correct code, it will unlock a secret video to end their quest.
