The story of how a dragon-loving, quest-creating, paranormal fantasy author opened a digital shop…
Hey there. Sheri here. Paranormal fantasy author and aspiring dragon rider…sadly without the dragon or cool leather gear.
But my story doesn’t start here.
It began long ago when, as a young girl, I lost myself in every fantasy novel I could get my hands on and created imaginary worlds for myself…and as you probably guessed, most of them involved dragons and flying.
But dreaming about dragons wasn’t all I did.
Creativity was my jam, and I could spend hours writing, working on art projects, or making special gifts for my family, completely unaware of the passage of time.
But one of my most favorite things was creating treasure hunts with trails of clues and riddles for my family to follow to find the special gifts I’d made for them.
Oh, the fun times I had planning and executing those treasure trails in the wee hours of the morning when everyone was still sleeping.
Things got even better when I became a mom and had new play partners for those magical quests. Birthdays provided a great opportunity for all kinds of treasure hunts. And Easter has hunts built right into its lore…and I used that in so many ways.
I had so much fun going on adventures and solving riddles with the boys on our treasure hunting quests…
…until they grew older and didn’t want to play those games with Mom anymore. ☹
Then I remembered an old, almost forgotten love that had gotten buried under the responsibilities of parenthood. I began writing again and let my imagination run free.
And then I published my first novel.
(This is the moment I typed “Fin” on my manuscript. So much unbridled joy. Lol.)
But I still missed those treasure hunts and quests of the past.
Then I discovered kids’ printables, and a whole new world of adventure opened up for me. I could again create those treasure-hunting games and all the puzzles I loved best. And so much more.
Today, my shop is my new creative playground and is filled with activities, puzzles, and printables designed to spark imagination and bring a little magic into some child’s life…and adults too!
