Storyline:
Today was the day Edmund was going to learn how to fly. Too excited to stay in bed, he got up and quietly crept through the inner tunnels of the mountain to the jumping off ledge where his mother was going to teach him to fly. He tried to wait patiently for her to get up, but the sky looked so inviting he wanted to see if he could figure it out on his own. So, taking a deep breath, Edmund flapped his wings hard and JUMPED off the ledge. He wobbled in the air and spun a couple of times, then got his wings working correctly…and just like that, he was flying. Wheee! Wouldn’t his mother be surprised when she saw him?
Just then, a huge gust of wind swept him up, knocking him sideways. Edmund squeaked and flapped his wings harder, but the wind carried him off. Suddenly, the Dark Woods loomed below. Edmund yelped when the wind let him go. He plummeted down through the tree branches, landing on the ground with a hard bump. Rubbing his tail, he looked around at the unfamiliar woods wondering how he was going to get back home.

He’s going to need your help to find his way out of the Dark Woods. So if you’re ready, your adventure awaits.

How Does It Work:
Kids will visit 8 stations and solve a puzzle at each one, recording their answers on a recording sheet. Since some of the puzzles can be tricky, hint cards have been provided to help the kids solve the puzzles in case they get stuck. There is also an answer key so the party/activity host can give them some extra assistance if needed.

To set up the escape room, just print an answer sheet for each kid or group, and one set of puzzles and you’re good to go. You can set up the puzzles throughout the house to enhance gameplay or just spread them out on the floor or dining room table.

Once the kids have completed all the challenges, they’ll scan the provided QR code with a cell phone camera, then enter the 8-digit code they came up with as the password to a hidden website. If they enter the correct code, it will unlock a secret video to end their quest.
