Secret Mission: Santa and the reindeer had just taken off on their annual Christmas flight when one of the elves ran up to Mrs. Claus, waving a crumpled envelope. “Mrs. Claus! We just found a letter for Santa that somehow got missed.” “Oh dear.” Mrs. Claus opened the envelope and read the letter. “It’s from Mikey Smith. He says his sister Becky is sad because their father won’t be home for Christmas and he wants to use his Christmas wish to cheer her up. He’s asked Santa to bring her a pink bear because that’s her favorite color.” “But…Santa already left,” the elf said. “What are we going to do?” “We’re going to get Becky’s bear to her ourselves,” said Mrs. Claus. “In fact, we’re going to bring her an entire pink Christmas.”

Your Mission: To help Mrs. Claus and the elves gather all the pink Christmas items and decorate the Smith house before everyone wakes up on Christmas morning. Unfortunately, Santa’s workshop is a bit of a mess, so it’ll take skillful hunting to find everything you need. Good luck.

How it works:
A “secret mission” is read, and Clue # 1 is handed to the “treasure seeker” which leads to Clue 2 in a different location. This party printable treasure hunt game has two parts.

Part 1: Kids will read 10 riddles which will reveal the location of their next clue. After finding each clue, they will need to use the decoder to write down the “code word” on their answer sheet.
Part 2: Using the code words on each clue card, kids will use the numbers under the indicated letters to reveal the final hiding spot.

All you have to do is print the clues, cut, and hide them! The list of hiding spots can be found inside your download. The final prize is up to you! Maybe it’s a birthday gift, a basket of candy, party favors, a vacation reveal, or a handwritten letter. The possibilities are endless as to what you choose to hide in the final location.

How long does this activity take to complete?

It really depends on a lot of things. Estimated completion time is 20+ minutes but it’s based on the kids’ reading skills, puzzle skills, group size, and age. It is also HIGHLY based on how difficult it is to find the clue cards. We always suggest folding the riddles and hiding them really well, out of plain sight!

How many kids can play at once?

Kids can play individually, with friends, or with their siblings. For a larger group, you’ll likely want to print and hide multiple copies of each clue. This is not intended to be a party game for large groups, but rather a family bonding time activity.

How do I set up the Scavenger Hunt?

To set up the Scavenger Hunt, you will need to cut the clue cards in half and hide them in the appropriate locations. The PDF includes the correct hiding spots for each clue. All hiding spots are common household places, such as under the bed, bathroom sink, or in a closet. The harder the clues are to find, the more fun the kids have! If clues are hidden in plain sight, the hunt would be completed too quickly.

Where do kids begin?

Kids may begin in any location of your house. Together, the “mission” is read out loud to get your kids hooked. Kids are then handed the first clue card. Each clue card contains a riddle that will lead them to the location of the next clue.

How do I set up the activity?

Just print, cut, hide and play! Everything you need is included in your download.

Do I have to print out the game materials for every kid?

Nope! You ONLY have to print out the answer sheet for each kid or group. Just one set of the actual clue cards is all you need!
